A really interesting book。 I recommend you listen to Billie own words while she is revisiting all the moments and who was important to her while you follow her photos。 A really different biography because this is mainly photos of Billie through the years。 But if you love Billie or are just interested in learning more about celebrities lives this one is really awesome and fulfilling！

Billie Eilish has inarguably been the biggest phenomenon of the last couple of years， with an audience large enough to make her be able to turn a somewhat random photo book of childhood photos into a bestseller。 I was too curious not to peek。 Don't get me wrong， I really enjoy her music。 I've been listening to Billie Eilish's music for three or four years now and to me， she's become increasingly difficult to understand as a phenomenon。 I've watched her go from against-the-grain indie-pop gal to Billie Eilish has inarguably been the biggest phenomenon of the last couple of years， with an audience large enough to make her be able to turn a somewhat random photo book of childhood photos into a bestseller。 I was too curious not to peek。 Don't get me wrong， I really enjoy her music。 I've been listening to Billie Eilish's music for three or four years now and to me， she's become increasingly difficult to understand as a phenomenon。 I've watched her go from against-the-grain indie-pop gal to global superstar。 The young teenager is now a young adult， and while a lot has changed for her as an artist （and person， probably， too）， she is still being perceived as the one "to do things differently"。 She's not like the rest， they say。 The book starts with a picture of Billie's mom while pregnant and lead us through early childhood and puberty over to her recent Academy Awards and Grammy's appearances， ending right before quarantine started。 A few photos are annotated and they all vary in intimacy and personality。 I've got no doubt that Billie means what she's saying when she writes the following in the introduction:"I think it's so important to take photos throughout your life because otherwise you might forget。 I don't want to forget， I want to keep my memories close and vivid。 I don't know if it's just because I'm sentimental， or maybe I just love to look at old pictures。" But what triggers the desire to share these moments with the entire world？ Why is there such an interest in it as well？ I'm lead to realise that Billie Eilish is essentially part of an industry that is essentially creating art and entertainment， but is ultimately fuelled by money and people who are keen to make money。 It's disillusioning and this book lead me to think of her as more of a product than much else。 There's also the strangely lingering omnipresence of her parents in a lot of her output， who also co-narrated the audio book accompanying this publication （I haven't listened to it， so I can't comment on it） and who have also played an important role in her documentary （which sole existence also lead me to ask the same questions as I do now）。Superfans will probably enjoy getting more material from the singer as they're waiting for the release of her second album。 I'm personally left with a slight unease that I can't quite put my finger on yet。 。。。more
